Reading Xilinx Serial EEPROM with Arduino

We had a need to read out a 4MBit serial EEPROM from a Xilinx board but our EPROM programmer was out on loan - enter Arduino!

Arduino is a general-purpose Atmel microcontroller board that’s great for all sorts of hacking projects.  The open-source development environment is a little clunky for those who know micros, but it’s fast and easy to use for beginners.
